Meet Lora
Lora Jody, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist/ Functional Nutrition
I believe better health begins with understanding the whole person-not simply addressing individual symptoms. Throughout my career as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I've seen how nutrition, lifestyle, stress, environment, and individual health history can work together to influence how we feel.
My interest in functional nutrition is also personal. Through my own health journey, I experienced ongoing symptoms that persisted despite seeking traditional medical care. That experience led me to look more deeply at the connections between nutrition, lifestyle, stress, environment and overall health. I was then able to make meaningful changes that improved how I felt and changed the way I viewed health and wellness. That journey continues to shape the way I work today-looking beyond one biomarker, like a lab result. I learned about root causes and how to look at the whole clinical picture versus only taking a medication to fix a number.Â
My approach to functional nutrition goes beyond one-size-fits-all recommendations. I work to understand each person's unique needs and help identify nutrition and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to their health concerns. From there, we develop practical, evidence-informed strategies designed to support long-term health and wellness.
I believe nutrition recommendations have to work in real life. My goal is to help clients understand their bodies, feel confident in their choices, and take a more active role in the health-without overwhelming rules or unrealistic expectations.
With more than 30 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I have had the opportunity to work with thousands of patients and clients across a variety of healthcare settings. I earned my bachelor's degree in dietetics from Eastern Kentucky University and completed my post graduate dietetic internship at the University of Kentucky. Throughout my career, I have pursued extensive continuing education in functional and integrative nutrition and remain committed to staying current with emerging research and evidence-based approaches to nutritional health.
